New Nine Holes Maximizes Virginia's Mountain Golf

Lakeview Golf Club has unveiled a new nine-hole golf course. The club had an existing 27 holes, but play has been heavy, and there was a need for an additional nine to handle traffic and increase the shareholders' potential revenue. Construction was completed in October of 2001 by Staff Contracting of Radford, VA. Golf Course Architect, Lester George, designed the new nine, which showcases incredible vistas of Massanutten Mountain.

"These nine holes were designed to take advantage of a truly unique piece of mountain property," said George, "In that regard, it maximizes vistas as well as utilizes the terrain as well as any mountain course I've seen. With four sets of tees measuring from 3579 to 2686 yards, the new nine can be matched with any other nine at Lakeview. This benefits all skill levels, as well as providing the club with flexible options for tournaments or outings. I am extremely pleased with the way the course turned out."
